Viva Las Vegas 2010 March 1, 2010

The Las Vegas Creative Painting 2010 convention has come to an end... my first convention of 2010.  What a week it was... wish I had taken various pictures of the first day of set up. What a mess... first comment is always, where do we begin? It is amazing that in the midst of all the crates and boxes it all comes together and we are prepared for the opening day of the show. The shows are special for a business owner because we all get the opportunity to meet our customers face to face... nice to receive handshakes, hugs and kisses... the trade floor was crowded right as the doors opened. Painters just love the opportunity to shop, find that new wood piece, pattern packet or just stand to admire other artist’s work.

I had a small booth space this year but it all came together pretty well. You just find a way to make it all fit... My Mom lives in Las Vegas and loves the thought that she can add her homey touches to the booth by sharing her treasures from home. They make great booth props. Trust me, she would have enough to share with the entire trade floor... but I, too, have a house full of goodies... I love my collections and I have many.  I would never be at lost for a thought or idea for a new design.

I adore creating sampler designs... there are countless designs within one work of art. I expect you can create lots of pleasurable paintings, stitching, and appliqués with each design I share with all of you. In the course of my travels, teaching and exhibiting at conventions it is amazing to see and hear what people have done with my designs. There are so many creative people amongst us and it is a pleasure to be among so many of you. I know there is so much more out there and with a bit of luck, through this new venture, it will give me the chance to meet so many more of my fellow artists. Thank you all, for stopping by to say "Hi" and your constant support it truly means so much.  It is worth all the hard work...

Until next time Happy Creating...

Hugs for now... Kim
